I currently tattoo out of Devils Day Tattoo in downtown Lansing, Michigan, with a working schedule of Wednesday through Sunday.
What forms of payment do you accept?

For deposits, I accept payment through Venmo, which I will send over once your project is accepted. You’ll have 24 hours to send over a deposit otherwise the date is not officially booked. At appointment time, at the end of your session, I will let you know the amount, and it will need to be paid in CASH only! There are a couple ATMs nearby if needed.
How much is a tattoo? What is your rate?

My current hourly rate is 175 an hour. It is hard to exactly gauge how long a tattoo can be in hours. There are so many varying factors that go into how long a tattoo can take and cost. The best thing that you can do for me, is let me know how long you’d like your session to last for each time, or what type of budget you are working with.
Are deposits refundable? I need to reschedule again.

Deposits are NON refundable and NON transferable. I am a pretty understanding person, shit happens. However, please respect my time as I respect yours. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so 48 HOURS before your appointment day. Anything within that time frame I will require another deposit. After 2 reschedules, I will also require a new deposit to be placed.
How do I send a deposit?

Deposit information will be send via email after we have a date and time set for your appointment.
Does the deposit go towards the cost of the tattoo?

Yes, however HALF of your deposit goes towards drawing time. The other half is applied to your appointment on the FINAL session of completion. Deposit amounts can vary depending on the size and style of your tattoo.
For flash and predrawn designs the ENTIRE amount is applied to your FINAL session of completion.
When is the deposit due?

You deposit will be due within 24 hours once I send over my information. If it is sent after, there is no guarantee you have that time slot anymore. So please be deposit ready when booking an appointment!
Style and Design
What style of tattooing do you offer?
Do you offer flash tattoos? Are they repeatable?

My style of tattooing in general terms is Neotraditional. Getting more specific though, it is heavily inspired by Art Nouveau elements. Melise Hill coined the term Neo-Nouveau (New, new) or Neotraditional Nouveau. I think that is the closest term I’ve heard!
I started my tattoo career doing American Traditional tattoos, so I do still do this style from time to time at a request or as a walk in. If you are wanting this style, please let me know in your form?
And yes! I have my flash posted here, my instagram and available in the shop in my book. They are always repeatable until I deem them retired!
I want a style you don’t offer, can I book with you?
Can I send you an AI design? Do you use AI in my design?

Most styles I can do, there are however certain projects I don’t take on just depending on what I am comfortable doing. You can always reach out and ask, and if it is something I can not do, I will recommend another artist who is safe and can do the work you are looking for.
Please don’t send me any AI designs! I do NOT use AI in any part of my process, and I am VERY AGAINST AI. Using AI for you references will cause a massive delay in getting booked. I love when people scribble the general idea of the design they want! That is so much more helpful than wasting water for a design that isn’t possible.
Can I see my design before my appointment?
What is a value study? Is my design not fully fleshed out?

This is probably my most asked question, and the answer is unfortunately no in most cases. I trust that you have looked over and understand the work I do. I typically revise a design multiple times until I am satisfied with it, right up until the night before your appointment. Sounds scary, but I promise that in the tattooing world it makes sense.
For most designs, I do value study. It is a sketchy mess of darker shades of black to light grey that show me how I need to tattoo and where to put my value in. It probably doesn’t make much sense to the client, but makes complete sense to me! Color is not as important as the value of the color. This means we do not have to stick with a particular palette, and can switch it up if needed! as long as the value of the color makes sense where I had it on your design. I have examples of this if you’d like to see, feel free to include it in your form that you’d like to see some examples!
What if I don’t like the design? Can I make changes?

Hopefully and ideally you know what style of tattooing I do, and have checked out my work and color palettes I use. I do not get offended if you need changes made to your design. Anything that requires a complete redrawn however will need to be rescheduled for a later date and may require another deposit. SO please be as detailed as possible when filling out my form to avoid any confusion!
The time around your appointment
I’m going to be late to my appointment, how should I contact you?

Shit happens, however depending on the day, I typically have other appointments after yours. If you’re later than 15 MINUTES you will be needing to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeit. Please be respectful of my time, as I am yours!
If you are going to be late, even a couple minutes I always appreciate a heads up. You can call the shop, and if no one picks up, shoot me an email!
I’m early to my appointment, what should I do?

I will be in the shop slightly earlier than your appointment time to set up my station. The shop doors don’t unlock until 1pm. If you are early feel free to treat yourself to some coffee next door until the doors are unlocked. Coming in early can throw off the process of setting up. So please just arrive RIGHT at your appointment time! Do not knock on the door or windows. I have gloves on and can not open the door.
I no called no showed my appointment. Can I rebook?

Nope! So sorry this is a STRICT policy I have! You can not be rebooked at any point for any reason. Including a touch up. I am respectful of your time, please be respectful to me and my time.
You quoted me for x amount last year, is that still valid?

Rates are subject to change, especially with the rising costs of what it takes to put into tattooing and as my skill continues to progress. I can no guarantee your price is valid unless we already have something on the books.
Aftercare, & What I use during your appointment
What type of Gloves do you use? Can I bring anything extra to my appointment?

I only use nitrile gloves, so no latex here!
And you can absolutely bring whatever it is that makes you most comfortable during your session. Be that extra pillows, blankets, headphones, books, snacks etc. I only ask if you bring any textiles that they are left in the booth area, and not place on any common ground areas like chairs or the lobby to avoid cross contamination.
What do you wrap my tattoo with at the end?

I typically use a wrap called (unfortunate, but a little funny) 4Skin. It is a type of derm shield wrap that will stay put for 2-5 days depending on many factors. IF you have a medical adhesive allergy we will NOT be using this method! We will be using either a saran wrap, or a meat pack situation.
Will we go over aftercare? What if I have questions after the tattoo?

At the end of your appointment we will go over aftercare in depth. And if you have any questions at all (there is no such thing as a stupid question btw) feel free to email me anytime or stop in the shop! If for whatever reason I am unable to be reached in a timely fashion, or it is urgent, call the shop! Anyone will be happy to answer your questions.
I have plans to go swimming shortly after getting a tattoo

DON’T !!! Please don’t go swimming until your tattoo is settled into your skin fully! Doing so early can cause infection and improper healing! Stay out of the water for at least weeks.

Can I come in for a consultation?

Of course you can! Consultations are free always. My working schedule can vary from day to day, so please fill out a booking form and I will reach out with times and dates that work.
How should I prepare for my appointment?

The best thing you can do for yourself is getting a good nights rest, staying hydrated with water, eating a GOOD meal. and moisturizing your skin regularly.
Feel free to bring any items to help distract yourself, any pillows, blankets or anything to make yourself comfortable. And snacks a PLENTY! There are nearby food spots, however depending on the day, most places can be closed. So please plan ahead! Better to be overprepared than under prepared! Could be the difference of a comfortable session, and passing out!
What is the parking situation like? Is parking free?

Parking is available out front of the shop most days. Weekends are FREE parking all day, PAID parking is required throughout the week Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM. And the parking attendants are evil, and be on top of their shit. There is an app called PASSPORT that you can download to help keep the demons at bay.
Do I have to tip my artist? How much do people usually tip?

Tipping is always optional, but always appreciated! If you’re unsure how much to tip, 15-20% is typically standard for personal services but obviously can be whatever you’re comfortable doing.

SCAMMMERRRR! I will never reach out first to book an appointment with you. Please report if you can, but there is nothing I can do unfortunately.
I sent money to someone impersonating Blue online, what do I do?

Report to your credit card provider, and report the account doing so! With the amount of scammers out there, there is nothing I can do to stop them. And unfortunately I can not apply what you have sent unless it is sent to me. So please double check everything before sending. Call the shop if you have any questions or need to double check.
